Mouvement Populaire pour une Guadeloupe Indépendante (MPGI - People's Mouvement for Independent Guadeloupe)

MPGI was founded in 1982. Its flag is made of four horizontal green-red-green-red stripes and a black triangle at the hoist. The triangle is charged with a yellow chain broken into two pieces.

At the World Team Olympics of Bridge, October 1996 in Rhodes, Greece, the flag mast at the venue had the flag of MPGI for Guadeloupe.

Union Populaire pour la Libération de la Guadeloupe (UPLG - People's Union for the Liberation of Guadeloupe)

UPLG was founded by Claude Makouké in 1978. The flag of UPLG, as reported by Lucien Philippe, is red with a big yellow star and thin green stripes on the top and bottom of the flag, separated from the red field by a thinner white stripe. Ratio of the flag is 1:2.
The flag is quite similar to the national flag of Suriname.

During its Congress in 1984, UPLG proposed to use a slightly modified version of the party flag as the national flag of Guadeloupe. According to Lucien Philippe, the yellow star is twice smaller on the proposed national flag than on the party flag.
